A Quick Update

I’ve been MIA for about a week due to my grandparents coming into town. This is probably the last time they will make the long drive out here to us, so I wanted to make sure that I made the best of their visit here.

It was great having their company. My grandmother and I did A LOT of cooking. I’d like to say that Trevor and I have food for at least 3-4 weeks. Of the things my grandmother and I made were lasagna, arroz con gandulas, arroz con pollo, chicken fricassee, bread pudding, and a few other dishes! These are recipes that she learned from my grandfather’s sister, who in turn learned from their mother (my great grandmother), so they have been passed down from generation to generation. It was really great listening to the stories behind the food and learning to make them myself.

My grandmother told me I can’t share these recipes – to just tell people that they are made with love. 😊 Sorry to say that I won’t be sharing them unless you’re very special to me.

We had a great time with them here, and next time I see them it will be when we drive to El Paso! We are not sure when that will be, but hopefully sometime in the near future.

Trevor has been working hard at his job and for most of summer, I’ve been relaxing. School will be starting up again in about 3 weeks and to say I’m excited would be a lie, but it is what it is and it has to be done.

I’ve been working on my @joann_plans Instagram, sharing videos and pictures of planning! If that interests you, please give me a follow and I’ll be sure to follow back.
